Biography

Teaching American History and World Geography Bald Eagle Area Middle High School for over ten years, I have learned that every day is a new adventure and there is always something for the teacher to learn.  That is why I embarked on my journey through the Wilkes University Instructional Media program.  I hope to enrich my teaching and teach today's students the skills they will need in the future.  This site is a collection of the work I have completed during my various courses.

Keeping Fit

Throughout high school and college, I enjoyed running and cycling.  I continue to cycle, and now I am coaching the middle school track team hoping to share my love for fitness and fun.

Travel & Adventure

With my husband, I enjoy visiting new locations to experience the beauty of nature, amazing historical locations,  or even a new restaurant.  Whether it is an unexplored backroad close to home or a stunning scene in one of our National Parks it is always an adventure.

Board Games

Playing and reviewing hobby board games is a great way to spend time with my husband and friends.  Some of my favorite games include Castles of Burgandy, Arcadia Quest, and Viticulture.  Games allow you to exercise your mind and increase your cognitive function while engaging with others.  Cooperative games help develop communication and teamwork skills.  Best of all board games are fun!

Several Open Books

Reading

Historical fiction, fantasy, nonfiction, memoirs or even young adult fiction I love to read them all.  Reading is at the same time relaxing and engaging, and I wish I could more than my schedule allows.  Some of my favorite books include Ken Follet's World With End, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See, and The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman.
